After Your Appointment

It is important that you follow these guidelines to ensure the best results

After the tattoo is finished a waterproof, breathable bandage will cover your tattoo (saniderm, tegaderm). This bandage is a barrier that will protect your tattoo while it is healing

Leave on for 3-5 days

It’s normal for the tattoo to have layers of blood and fluid visible under the bandage

Remove while in the shower and wash with a gentile non-scented soap (baby Dr. Bronners is recommended)

Pat dry with a disposable paper towel after cleansing, never use a bath/hand towel as this may introduce bacteria

Allow to dry and then add a thin layer of plain, unscented lotion to keep the tattoo moisturized while healing

Do not itch, pick, or touch your tattoo with unclean hands during the healing process

Cleanse & moisturize your tattoo for the first 7-10 days

IF YOU EXPERIENCE EXCESSIVE PAIN, SWELLING, REDNESS, or FEVER CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN
